A five-spice rub makes this sirloin fragrant and enticing. The tender steak is sliced and added to udon noodles and broth. The added greens complete this meal in a bowl.

Ingredients

2 lb. sirloin, thinly sliced
2 tsp. five-spice powder
1⁄4 cup sesame oil
4 tsp. gingerroot, grated
4 shallots, thinly sliced
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 lb. shiitakes, sliced
4 red jalapeños, thinly sliced
2 cups beef stock
4 lb. mustard greens, cleaned
2 lb. udon noodles, cooked
 

Steps

1. Rub steak with five-spice powder and set aside.

2. In wok, heat sesame oil and sauté gingerroot, shallots, and garlic.

3. Add shiitake mushrooms, steak, and peppers and sauté.

4. Stir in stock and add greens. When greens have wilted, add noodles; toss and serve.
