For Valentine’s Day, all Truluck’s locations nationwide are serving up the TruLuv cocktail created by Beverage Director Dave Mattern. The pink-hued drink, a blend of vodka, orgeat, strawberry-rhubarb syrup and Aperol, is served in a martini glass with a decadent garnish of chocolate-dipped strawberries.

Ingredients

Fresh whole strawberries

Dark chocolate chips

1½ oz. vodka

½ oz. almond orgeat syrup

½ oz. fresh lime juice

½ oz. Aperol

¼ oz. strawberry-rhubarb syrup

Sliced strawberries, cut into heart shapes

Steps

  1. Clean, dry and remove stems from strawberries. Place chocolate chips in metal bowl; place bowl over a pot of boiling water. Stir chocolate until melted.

  2. Dip strawberries halfway into chocolate, leaving the green leaves on top expose. Place on sheet of waxed paper to set. Hold in walk-in until ready to use.

  3. For each cocktail, combine vodka, orgeat, lime juice, Aperol and strawberry-rhubarb syrup. Shake well with ice and strain into a martini glass. Garnish with three strawberry slices and one chocolate-covered strawberry.
