Vanilla and chocolate are just two of the possible ice cream flavors to use for this dessert. Mix and match your favorites, contrasting colors to maintain the marbled appearance.

Ingredients

1 1/2 cups vanilla wafer crumbs
6 tbsp. powdered sugar
6 tbsp. cocoa powder
6 tbsp. butter, melted
1 1/2 gal. chocolate ice cream
1 1/2 gal. vanilla ice cream
1 1/3 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
2/3 cups Maraschino cherries, coarsely chopped and well-drained

Steps

  1. Prepare crust: Combine vanilla wafer crumbs, powdered sugar, cocoa and melted butter in bowl; mix well. Press crumb mixture evenly on bottom and up sides of 9-in. pie plate.

  2. Bake crust for 8 min. in preheated 350°F oven.

  3. Prepare filling: Combine chocolate and vanilla ice cream in large mixer bowl. Add chocolate chips and cherries. Mix on low-speed for 1 min.; do not over-mix to keep pie’s marbled appearance.

  4. Spread ice cream mixture into prepared crust; let sit at room temperature for 20 min. before freezing. Cover and freeze until firm.
