Dish D'Lish
Seattle

Move over eggnog—hot chocolate got elegantly elevated. Chef Casey of Dish D'Lish in Seattle takes a classic holiday beverage up a notch by combining chocolate with red wine and honey, making for a decadent and timely treat.

Ingredients

6 oz. finely chopped bittersweet chocolate
1/2 cup full bodied red wine
1 cup whole milk
2 tbsp. honey
4 gourmet marshmallows, for garnish
Red wine salt, for garnish
Honey, for drizzling

Steps

1. In small saucepan over low heat, combine chocolate and wine. Whisk until chocolate is melted, about 3 to 5 minutes. Add milk and honey; increase heat to medium-low and continue to heat until hot but not boiling.
2. Remove from heat and pour into small cups for serving. Garnish with toasted marshmallows sprinkled lightly with red wine salt if desired.
