Peppermint and fresh berries offer a modern twist on the traditional English dessert.

Ingredients

2 oz. peppermint coffee syrup
1 qt. whipped topping
1 cup chocolate pudding, prepared
12 oz. chocolate sheet cake, not iced, cut into 1-in. cubes
2 cups vanilla pudding, prepared
1 lb. + 8 oz. fresh blackberries
1 lb. Oreo cookie ice cream topping
6 oz. peppermint candies, crushed

Steps

  1. Fold peppermint syrup into whipped topping. Remove 2/3 of mixture and fold into chocolate pudding. Hold both separate and cold.

  2. Fill bottom of trifle dish with cubed sheet cake.

  3. Gently spread vanilla pudding over cake.

  4. Sprinkle 12 ounces of fresh berries over pudding.

  5. Gently spread 1 cup of peppermint-flavored whipped topping over berries.

  6. Sprinkle Oreo crumbles over whipped topping.

  7. Sprinkle 12 ounces of blackberries over Oreos.

  8. Gently spread 3 cups of chocolate pudding mixture over Oreos.

  9. Top with 6 ounces of crushed peppermint candies.
