April 25—About a dozen members of the York Environmental Society at York College, in Jamaica, N.Y., have decided to take unused food from the college's dining hall to the Catholic Harvest Food Pantry in York City.

The new arrangement, which has been going on for a few weeks, means regular prepared food dropoffs at no cost, said Kris Pollick, pantry director. A recent dropoff included chicken and a side dish, and pantry clients only need to warm it up, an important factor since many don't have a full kitchen available.
