Yale Names New Residential Dining Director

Yale Dining has announced that Cathy Van Dyke has been named Director of Residential Dining

Yale Dining has announced that Cathy Van Dyke has been named director of residential dining and will provide leadership for all facets of the residential program.

“With Cathy Van Dyke joining our leadership team Yale Dining makes a bold statement in merging the hospitality innovation, sustainable systems and excellence in talent management," says Yale Dining's Executive Director, Rafi Taherian. "Cathy possesses vast skills and will provide us with a fresh approach. We are delighted to have her on the team."

Van Dyke holds a B.A. in chemistry from McDaniel College, an M.S. in environmental science and engineering from the University of North Carolina, and an M.P.P.M. from the Yale School of Management. She spent 25 years in environmental engineering and management helping industries to improve the safety and reduce the environmental impacts of their operations.  She currently serves as an Associate Master for Saybrook College at Yale.

Yale Dining is a hospitality organization with 12 residential colleges, a freshmen commons serving 11,000 meals a day, four graduate student dining facilities, six retail operations and a restaurant, Catering Express, and commissary serving 3,500 meals a day. It also operates Yale Catering, Executive Services and Bakery; Business Excellence and Administration.  The organization has a staff of 540 employees.
