Williamson Hospitality Services, Inc., of Blue Bell, PA, has developed and introduced a health eating program called Smarty Foods, which is designed to help dining patrons eat smarter both onsite and at home.

According to Williamson CEO Jim Osborne, "Our clients and customers look to us for ways to improve and maintain their health. The Smarty Foods program provides fun, better-for-you food choices throughout the year."

As part of the Smarty Foods program, Williamson accounts recently hosted farmers markets in all their locations. At the markets, patrons were offered a wide range of seasonal fresh fruits and vegetables in colorful grab & go-style settings.

"Customer and client reaction was terrific," Osborne reports. "They really appreciated the convenience of having premium produce available for purchase right in their dining facilities."

Plans are under way for a full season of additional Smarty Foods programs in 2005, he adds.
