Utah State University plans to phase out the state’s only four-year culinary arts/food service management program due to its inability to secure funding for two additional faculty members and an expanded kitchen, The inadequate funding meant that the program would be unable to make the required improvements to receive accreditation. The nine students currently enrolled in the program will be able to complete their degrees with classes offered until 2009. Several other Utah schools offer two-year degrees in culinary arts, but USU has had the only bachelor’s degree program.
