University tweaks dining operations amid high costs

Three campus eateries will see changes this fall.

The University of Connecticut in Storrs, Conn., will make changes to three dining locations in an effort to reduce operating costs, The Daily Campus reports.

Starting in the fall, Putnam Dining Hall will get rid of its late-night hours, and Buckley Dining Hall will scrap service on Saturday and Sunday, the result of low participation during those times. 

In addition, a campus cafe will permanently close in its current form, transitioning into a study space with self-serve vending machines that offer sandwiches and salads.
