Under the guidance of Northwestern Dining and Sodexo, the university’s foodservice provider, a student-run coffee shop will open its doors in the fall, reports The Daily Northwestern.

Officials say the goal of the shop—which is expected to operate in the University Library’s Café Bergson—is to cultivate an educational experience for students, as well as a student-friendly environment.

The student management team put in place will run the shop using a preset budget, handling everything from ordering products to deciding on the menu, says The Daily.

“There’s so much to running a business,” NU Spokesperson Rachel Tilghman, told the website. “I am excited the students can do it in a protected environment where it’s OK to make mistakes and where we have plans and procedures to help them out. One day, they can build on what they learned here on campus when they go out into the real world.”
