Oct. 7—Campus Dining at 17,600-student University of Nevada, Reno, recently opened its newly redesigned food court, The Overlook.

The renovation allowed the department to incorporate several sustainability inititaves including low-emittance, double-paned tinted windows, light reflecting panels and LED lighting, which increases natural light while reducing energy consumption, according to a university press release. To increase the natural feeling in the food court, the building¹s support columns were redesigned to replicate trees. The food court also features a new paint scheme and flooring designed to enhance the natural feel of the space.

The dining hall features several branded stations, including Mondo Subs, Smashers Grille, Second City Pizza, Mandalay Express and Freshens Smoothies. During the renovation, the department also installed three interactive projection screens with motion sensors that allow customers to go online, read the campus newspaper or play games.
