Last month, the East Campus Corner Deli at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln debuted a new piece of hardware: an ordering kiosk.

Rather than wait in line to place a deli order, students can now enter it into the kiosk, get an order slip and wait to hear their name once the item is ready, according to student news outlet The Daily Nebraskan.

The aim of the kiosk system is to reduce the amount of time students were waiting in line and to facilitate ordering ahead, Dining Services Director Dave Annis told The Daily Nebraskan.

It can also be used to highlight limited-time menu items and other specials, noted Ronald White, assistant food service manager for East Campus Dining Center.
