The University of Kansas has named Mark Petrino its new director of dining services.

Petrino—who will assume his post in February—formerly served as senior associate director of residential dining at Colorado State University, where he oversaw two retail operations and six dining centers.

KU officials say Petrino was tapped due to his collaborative, creative approaches toward staff development and customer service.

“Having worked for over 30 years in the hospitality industry, I will bring a collaborative and inclusive management style, partnering with key campus stakeholders to elevate a great program to the top in our field,” Petrino said in a statement.
