University debuts customizable vegan menu

The option was added in response to students’ growing interest in vegan items.

Vegan stations at Boston University dining hall have received an upgrade in response to student feedback, The Daily Free Press reports.

The university introduced a “Vegan Your Way” menu, allowing students their choice of proteins, vegetables, starches and sauces to build their own vegan dishes. The menu is available every Tuesday at lunch and every Thursday at dinner in all three of the university’s dining halls.

Each year, the university sends out a survey to glean information on students’ dietary preferences. It has seen an annual increase in BU students interested in vegan meals, according to Scott Rosario, BU Dining Services spokesperson.
