University creates team to monitor Sodexo

The contractor’s progress in meeting specific goals will be the focus of monthly meetings.

The University of Vermont has created a team to evaluate foodservice provider Sodexo’s progress on meeting goals outlined in its recent contract, The Vermont Cynic has learned.

The Dining Implementation Team—led by Dennis DePaul, UVM’s assistant dean for business operations—will meet monthly to discuss the food vendor’s progress on its goals, which include delivering more lower-priced and locally sourced foods.

“There needed to be some way to make sure that the ideas Sodexo proposed actually happened,” Nihart said. “It turns out that they put stuff in the contract or the proposal that five years down the line people may have forgotten.”
