The University of Houston and its dining services provider Aramark officially opened the new dining operation in the school's University Center. The food court features four national brand restaurant outlets: Chick-fil-A, McDonald's, Panda Express and Starbucks.

Hours for the concepts vary but at least one is open at all hours between 7 am and 10 pm during the week. The McDonald's is also open on weekends.

Slated to open next year is a fifth station, a unit of Freshii, a "health-casual" concept featuring a menu of salads, burritos, wraps, rice bowls, yogurts, breakfast and soups made with high-quality, fresh ingredients that is currently in 35 cities in eight countries around the world. Locations include campuses of American University, Arizona State University, Elon University, Hood College and Wayne State University.

University Center's food court also has a Cougar Express Market c-store outlet, one of six locations around the campus.
