This week on Food Management, 5 tech things: Colleges looking to automate dining in face of enrollment drop, study finds ranked as the weeks to story. A new study commissioned by tech solutions firm CBORD found that revenue from on- and off-campus dining is a key concern as colleges and universities prepare for a dramatic drop in student enrollment. As a result, nearly half of surveyed administrators are undertaking initiatives to automate dining operations in order to create frictionless foodservice and expanded dining options for students.

Also, from its creative design and elevated technology, Citi’s newly branded food hall in Tampa—Tampa Bay Kitchen Company (see video tour here)—features an amenity space and programming to increase food offerings and speed up the guest experience. The new space also showcases mouth-watering food, seamless convenience and an energetic environment that allows the culinary team to focus on delivering superior dining experiences.
