“We like to get students involved in the menu choices, so we hold burger wars,” says Lisa Bayard, manager of Tyler’s, a campus grill at the University of Richmond. “It gives us an idea of what they really like on their burgers. The winning burger is the burger with the most sales.”

Students can also vote on their favorites in the burger bash and be entered into a drawing for a free burger meal. This year, the month-long Burger Bash generated 711 extra burgers sold in four weeks. Click through to meet this year’s contenders and a few standouts from previous years.
