Beginning this fall, Ohio State University Dining Services will expand its meal plan options to include two weekly block plans that will reset every Sunday evening, reports the Lantern campus paper. The new plans will offer either 25 or 20 weekly blocks, unlike the current meal plans that saw blocks expire at the end of each semester. At the end of fall semester, OSU Dining had refunded $3 for every unused block, which are worth $5 at the campus dining halls.

The blocks meal plan approach was introduced to OSU in the 2012-13 academic year, replacing the previous swipes meal plan, concurrent with the school's switch to a semester-based academic year from one based on quarters.
