Sept. 16—The first on-campus locations of Johnny Rockets, a popular ‘50s-style fast casual burger concept, opened at The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey, in Galloway Township, N.J., and Oklahoma State University, in Stillwater, this school year.

The restaurant features burgers, fries, chicken sandwiches, veggie burgers, salads and milk shakes in a fun, retro atmosphere. Both restaurants are located in each school’s respective student centers. The location at the College of New Jersey held its grand opening on Sept. 15.

“Our student population specifically requested Johnny Rockets be a part of our 154,000-square-foot campus center, and they can now enjoy all-American fare as they head back to school,” Jason Fitch, resident district manager for Chartwells Dining Services at The Richard Stockton College, said in a press release. “Johnny Rockets' bright and welcoming decor compliments the new Osprey Food Court and their menu items fit right in with what our students tell us they want to eat.”

The location at OSU will open in early October when the campus’s newly renovated student center opens its doors.

“Students are generally attracted to the restaurant experiences they grew up with, which is reflected in the shift away from solely eating in campus cafeterias,” Terry Baker, director of University Dining Services at OSU, said in a press release. “Johnny Rockets' high-quality food and simple atmosphere is unlike anything else we've previously offered and is sure to hit the spot for students seeking comfort food and friendly service.”
