Disposables Fee Spurs Use of Reusable Takeout Boxes at UF

The University of FLorida is reporting unexpected levels of participation with its reusable takeout box program since it instituted a charge for using disposable boxes to take food out of its dining centers, reports the Alligator campus paper. The environmentally friendly reusable boxes were originally introduced three years ago with a refundable $4 deposit fee but only really took off since a 40-cent charge began to be levied on using disposable containers.
