One of the two residential dining facilities at NAU is Hot Spot, which has a Wild Mushroom vegetarian/vegan station and Sodexo’s Simple Servings allergen-free specialty station among its seven platforms.

Prominent retail dining outlets on campus also include the full-service, Southwestern-themed 1899 Bar & Grill, the Bean & Beaker Café coffee shop in the Science Lab, the Essential Blends smoothie concept and the Green Scene Café sustainable dining concept (which displays the carbon footprint of everything it serves)—both at the Health & Learning Center—the Sweet Escape ice cream shop in McKay Village and the Where’s The Food Truck mobile eatery.

The Union complex also sports national brands Chick-fil-A Express, Denny’s Fresh Express, Pizza Hut Express and Starbucks along with the more proprietary Garden Toss (create-your-own salads, soups, bread bowls, fresh sushi), Basone’s Piccoli Dolci artisan bakery and Wedge Market and Pizza , a combination c-store/pizzeria/panini shop.

The other major retail dining collection of concepts is at Union Point with Jamba Juice, Subconnection and Einstein Bagels units joining the Mai Pham created Star Ginger Thai/Vietnamese concept and Cobrizo Mexican Grill with its made-to-order traditional Mexican selections.

There’s another Einstein Bagels in the du Bois Center along with Pasta Works (made to order Italian dishes), Freestyle Grill (burgers/fries/hot dogs) and the extended hour (until midnight Sunday-Thursday) Coupe chicken concept.
