The residential dining halls are the backbone of campus dining in Lincoln as the eight retail locations consist of four c-stores and four grab-and-go outlets. Among the dining centers, market-style Abel/Sandoz offers six service platforms and floor-to-ceiling windows. Cather/Pound/Neihardt (CPN) focuses on special meals and individual menu items prepared with food from local producers as part of the university’s GFL (Good. Fresh. Local.) initiative. Harper has a market place design where students enjoy menu items from a variety of stations like pizza and pasta, traditional, ethnic cuisine, deli bar, grill and salad/soup bar.

East Campus Union Cafe joins CPN in serving GFL monthly special meals as well as individual GFL menu items served daily. Selleck's market-place atmosphere welcomes students with its open design and varied dining experiences ranging from stone-baked pizza and pasta to made-to-order deli and soup bar selections, ethnic cuisine, an omelet bar, traditional fare, American grill, salad bar and a breakfast station.

The grab and go’s range from Knoll Continental Breakfast (open mornings during the week) and East Campus Deli (breakfast and lunch during the week) to Husker Hoagies and Husker Heroes, both specializing in sandwich type cuisine.
