Boston College in Newton, Mass., is introducing a pitaya bowl to one of its campus dining halls, BC Heights reports.

BC Dining decided to create the pitaya, or dragonfruit, bowl after the success it had with acai bowls last year. However, due to the acai version containing yogurt, students who are vegan or lactose intolerant were not able to eat them.

The pitaya bowl will be made using pitaya powder, mango, pineapple, banana, pea protein powder and black tea, making it appropriate for vegan and lactose-free diets.

Over the next weeks, the dining team will enter the bowl’s ingredients into a database to determine its nutritional information and will then adjust its ingredients to maximize flavor and nutrition.

Once the bowl is introduced, the dining team plans to hand out samples and comment cards to garner student feedback.
