College dining trending: Texas A&M sends snack boxes to quarantined students; University of Florida serves self-made food

This month in college dining stories, Chartwells at Texas A&M University showed support to students through foodservice. Dining services has been sending snack boxes with a punchy message to quarantined students.

In Florida, Aramark at the University of Florida aimed for semi normalcy in its college dining program. Designated entrances and exits serve to manage the flow of traffic as soon as students walk in. Inside are three or four serving stations condensed, down from the typical 10 or 11 and all self-serve was eliminated. But Gator Dining opted to bring back some of the made-to-order stations in November like omelets and the grill.

And, as we wrap up 2020 here at Food Management, we decided to take a look at the top 10 biggest college dining stories of the year. These included delivery options, including the introduction of delivery robots, coronavirus reopening plans, grab-and-go meal development and more.
