College dining trending: Grambling State University opens renovated dining hall

In this month’s recap of the Top 5 most popular C&U Food Management articles, a renovated dining hall opens at Grambling State University ranked as the week’s top story. McCall Dining Hall at Grambling State University, a historically black university in Louisiana, has been overhauled into a spectacular facility boasting stations such as a live action grill and a brick pizza oven, plus performance space and other entertainment options like a game room. Among other stories in this week’s gallery:

  • How a dietitian helps Stony Brook University students cope with stress; and

  • University of Nebraska dining services scaling back on self-service—for good.

In other news, Boston College’s Chef Michael Forcier makes curbside count in this month's C&U Chef's Showcase. The charitable Curbside for a Cause program feeds one family for each family meal purchased. Previous meals include a barbecue dinner offered by BC Dining last summer in a buy-one-give one project that fed those in need.
