LARAMIE, Wyo.—The University of Wyoming Dining Services will now donate leftover food to the Laramie Soup Kitchen.
Samantha Brant and seven other students designed the plan for their community and public health class last fall. Once the class ended and the project was still in the works, Brant and the others continued developing a proposal as an internship. The group also partnered with faculty member Virginia Vincenti, who was working to amend the campus food policy at the time.
“After we saw how much was going to waste and the community support, we felt we had to finish it,” Brant said.
