At the University of Oregon’s Fire ’n Spice Grill students can choose to upgrade to eggs from cage-free chickens for an extra dollar when ordering omelets, reports the Eugene Register-Guard. The dining services continues to use traditional eggs in its general foodservice operations, but the upgrade option was put forward as a way to test the marketability of the higher-priced cage-free eggs. Fire ’n Spice is a to-order grill station where students choose the ingedients that are then prepared in front of them.
