Senate workers side with staff in union push for Capitol cafeteria
One senator and dozens of aides joined in a boycott to foster unionization.

Senator Sherrod Brown, D-OH, and more than two-dozen Senate aides boycotted the Senate’s cafeteria Wednesday, reports America.aljazeera.com.
Brown and the aides brought their own lunches to show their support for a union drive among the café staff. Officials of the boycott say they hope it becomes a recurring event.
Charles Gladden, a Senate cafeteria worker, told America.aljazeera.com that he thought the boycott was a great show of solidarity.
“[It] shows that they acknowledge us. They came down and supported us physically as opposed to just putting out a memo,” he said.
