Microsoft's Fargo, ND, campus cafeteria is the first Three Star Certified Green Restaurant in the state, reports the Grand Forks Herald. It is shooting for that fourth star, the highest achievement given by the Green Restaurant Association and one that only a handful of restaurants nationwide have received. The three-star honor requires a minimum of 175 points in seven environmental categories, including a minimum of 10 points in each of the following: energy, water, waste, chemicals, food disposables and building. The Fargo campus has taken several steps to be more green, including using geothermal cooling and heating, more recyclables and natural lighting to conserve energy.
