ScheduleMitchell School District in Mitchell, S.D., has remodeled each of its five cafeterias with a specific theme to attract students to its lunch program, The Daily Republic reports.

The renovations, which took place over the past year, included transforming one of its elementary school cafeterias into a 1950s-style diner and another into a jungle-themed space dubbed the Lions Den.

The district’s foodservice fund was used to pay for all the renovations, which totaled $35,000, according to FSD Leann Carmody, who noted that the district received an influx of money last year as lunch participation increased.
