Dalene Bowden, the Idaho cafeteria worker allegedly fired last month for serving a lunch to a student with no money, has decided to not return to Pocatello-Chubbuck School District after being offered a new job.

Bowden told the Idaho State Journal that she had decided against accepting the district’s offer because it was in the central kitchen, rather than her original job at Irving Middle School. Her original post allowed her to interact with the students, a reason why she enjoyed her job.

“I told (the district) that I would come back if I could go back to my position at Irving and they said that was not on the table,” Bowden told the website.
