Say good morning to the old-fashioned goodness of oatmeal baked with raisins, walnuts and tart apples.

Ingredients

4 cups milk
3⁄4 cup brown sugar
1 tbsp. butter
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1⁄2 tsp. salt
2 cups rolled oats
2 cups diced, unpeeled apples
1 cup raisins
1 cup chopped walnuts

Steps

1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Combine milk, 1⁄2 cup brown sugar, butter, cinnamon, and salt in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil, stirring to combine.

2. Combine oats, apples, raisins, and walnuts in a large bowl. Add hot milk mixture and stir until well blended. Pour into 2-qt. casserole. Cover and bake 25 min., or until most of liquid is absorbed.

3. Portion oatmeal mixture into individual ovenproof bowls. For each serving, sprinkle on 2-3 tsp. brown sugar and broil 1-2 min. to melt sugar and form a crackly top.
