This dessert is simple, tasty and sweet. With both orange juice and lemon juice, the sweetness is balanced in this recipe.
2 cups drained mandarin oranges
2 cups water
1 cup sugar
1/3 cup fresh orange juice
1/3 cup fresh lemon juice
Puree drained mandarin oranges.
Stir water and sugar into heavy saucepan over high heat until sugar dissolves. Boil for 5 minutes.
Place mixture in shallow container and freeze, stirring every hour until set, about 6 hours. Can be made three days in advance and stored, frozen, in airtight container.
